Gadagpex 2014

Gadagpex-2014 was held at Gadag on 9th and 10th August 2014. 2 special covers released on 9th August 2014, at the recently concluded Cluster Level Exhibition at Gadag consisting of 6 postal divisions of the Brahma Jainalaya, Lakkundi and Dodda Basappa Temple, Dambala.

Exhibition of Indian Currency Notes

An Exhibition of Indian Currency Notes was held on 10th August during the monthly meeting of our Association. Our member Mr.Richard Lobo exhibited his collection of British India and Republic India notes. There were various notes like the 1 rupee notes with the signatures of various Finance Secretaries, other notes with signatures of Governors and Birthday notes of eminent Personalities.

Of stamps that emit pleasant fragrance, and others...

Here 's a newspaper article published in " THE HINDU" dated 06.08.2014 which is about the fragrance and other unusual stamps featuring M.K.Krishnayya, our ex-president.

Did you know some stamps give out a pleasant fragrance, while some stamps can be seen wearing spectacles to get a 3D effect? There are also some stamps with silk and khadi textures, while some stamps are gold and silk embossed.

District level Exhibition in Madikeri

As per Official News a Circle level Exhibition KAVERIPEX will be held at Madikeri from 10th to 12th October 2014. It will include Kodagu, Mangalore, Udupi, Puttur and Tumkur Circles.

80 years of kannada Cinema - Special Cover

There will be a special cover release on 03.03.2014 at 11.00 hrs on the occasion of 80 years of Kannada Cinema. The venue is "VISMAYA" auditorium at Rangoli Metro Art Center, MG Road Metro Station Boulevard, Bangalore.

 

 

Also, prize distribution for the winners of Bangalore Region Design a Stamp contest has been organized at Meghdoot Auditorium, Bangalore GPO, Bangalore - 560 001. The date of prize distribution ceremony is 04.03.2014 at 16.00 hrs. All the members are invited to the same.

Sad Demise of Sri. M.Mukunda Prabhu

We are deeply saddened to inform you that one of our Founder Member of D.K.Philatelic and Numismatic Association Dr. M.Mukunda Prabhu (83) passed away on 5th January 2014 after brief illness. We pray that may his Soul rest in eternal peace.
