Gandhi Jayanthi - Swachhata Abhiyan

As planned by some of our members, we met on 2nd October 2018, but this time it was not for our Philatelic of Numismatic meet at Head Post Office, but for the cleaning program  (Swachhata Abhiyan) at the Head Post Premises. We had decided to clean the front portion of the Head Post Office and stated our work at 9 AM.

One page exhibits


Our monthly meeting for the month of September 2018 was held at Head Post Office on 09.09.2018. Mr.K.Sridhar spoke of the objectives on the one page exhibits and described the way the exhibit to be prepared.

Recently one page exhibit was conducted at Bangalore and Mr.Sridhar won the third prize for one of his exhibit on Greenhouse Gas and Carbon pricing.

One-page philatelic exhibit...

One-page Philatelic exhibit is an innovative method to exhibit one's collection of philatelic materials.  The entries in this shall be complete philatelic exhibits presented on one-page. The page size is to be 8 1/2 inch x 11 inch or 210 mm x 297 mm.

The content of a one-page exhibit is about a story entirely contained on one-page.  The story is the most important aspect of a one-page exhibit.  And, the story can be related with stamps alone or with stamps, covers, appropriate philatelic material and text or captions. The story can be in several forms.

A story relating to:

·         * a particular Philatelic Item or Items
·        * the issue or use of a particular stamp
·         * to Postal History or Postal Markings
·         * Philatelic Research of some kind
·         * an unusual or specific event
·         * a story which is Topical or Thematic

Sad Demise of Shri.K.Sankappa Shetty


We are deeply saddened to inform you that our Patron member Shri.k.Sankappa Shetty (76) retired ASP India Post, D.K.Division passed away on 29th August 2018.  He had supported Philatelic activities in our area and was active in most of the district level Philatelic exhibition held in D.K area. We pray that may his Soul rest in eternal peace pray to give the family the support which is needed in his absence.

Meeting - April 2018

Monthly meeting of our Association for the month of April 2018 was held at Head Post Office on 8th April 2018. Mr. Madhukar Jinghan, a well known Philatelist from New Delhi visited our Meeting and he was introduced by Mrs.Vidya Baglodi to all our members present.








He spoke briefly about philately and as he had to leave for Delhi, was unable stay with us for the duration of the meeting. It was a surprise visit by him and the members present where happy with his presence. He was honored by our President with a small token of love.
